Oslo is the capital of Norway and is one of the largest city in the country. The city is located at the head of Oslo Fjord and hence is surrounded by a lot of greenery and woody hills. For those who love hiking, trekking and other outdoor activities, the city is the best place to be in. All the attractions are nearby to each other and most of the parks are within walking distance of around ten minutes. During the winter season, you can access all eight ski centres in the city. There's also hundreds of kilometres of cross country trails in the snow covered forests and mountains. Norwegian Museum of Cultural History (Norsk Folkemuseum), Oslo - The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History is one of Europe's largest open-air museums. It consists of 155 traditional houses from all over Norway and a Stave Church from the year 1200.The museum's indoor exhibits show classic handicraft items, folk costumes, Sami culture, weapons, toys, pharmaceutical history and other historic artifacts. In summer you can experience lefse baking, horse and carriage rides, feeding of the animals, guided tours, handicraft demonstrations and much more. The museum hosts many events such as folk dancing, exhibitions, arts and crafts activities, baking and church services. A brilliant place to go to experience Oslo's history.

Outdoor swimming in Oslo - In Oslo you have a number of places to choose between for swimming in the outdoors. You can swim both in the fjord and in the lakes in the woods.
